Is it that time, already? Goodness. As is the usual, I’ve found myself quite the quiet corner and I’m relaxing. I’ve just finished washing and drying all of the dishes (there were quite a few, goodness Me) but it was well worth it. Dinner was absolutely phenomenal. As was voted for, I made the steak and shrimp parmesean. But before I really launch into the story, perhaps *You* ought to get comfortable, hm? Kick back with a drink of choice because as like last week, I have quite the story to tell… Continue reading
Happy Monday Morning.
I hope your weekend was well, and you’ll have to excuse my blog about popcorn, it happens. Anyways, it’s a new week and I’ve found myself at an odds. I have three different dishes that I want to try, all great in their own aspects, however, I’m unsure of what to cook first. Perhaps, if I’d gotten some sleep (I haven’t slept yet), this would be a no brainer. But, long story short, I would really love to see what YOU think. Continue reading
It’s one of America’s favourite good for you snacks. Well… it’s good for you until you add whatever it is you add to it. Me personally, I’m a fan of fresh popped popcorn with m&m’s… when I’m not at the movies, that is. Then it’s just however my best mate makes it. I don’t know what he puts in the popcorn, but he always makes it perfectly. Not too buttery, not too salty, just right. Thus, it’s a good thing that when we go together, we usually get the refillable bucket because the way we nosh on popcorn is ridiculous. Anyways, anecdores aside; the inspiration for this came from a few nights ago. I was eating popcorn and noticed that Orville Redenbacher had created something wickedly awesome: the pop up bowl. Naturally, as I came to discover while writing this, there’s more to popcorn than brands and tastes. It has quite the history.
Ah, how lovely it is to be sitting after a particularly long day. Legs tucked gracefully under me, a drink of sorts on the ledge near me, jazz music floats softly about me. The perfect post-dinner accents, I think. I have quite the story for you; one that concerns only three hours of sleep, pouring over a new cookbook for a twist on a suggested meal for the evening, grocery shopping, and of course, being in the kitchen all day. So Dears, find yourself a comfortable seat, get your drink of choice and have a splendid evening by my fireplace. As Shel Silverstein would say “come in, come in.” Continue reading
It’s a fact that somewhere down the line, some scientist figured out that as we age, our tastes differ and vary. This could not be more true. I bet you remember being a kid and someone in your family wanted you to try something. Whether it be while you were staying with relatives and your aunt wanted you to have cold cut sandwiches one day, or the following year your uncle wanted you to have his signature fireman’s breakfast burrito. Or perhaps, while out at a restaurant your grandmother wanted you to try that funky fried thing she was eating, that though you didn’t want to admit, smelled great. Well anyways, I bet 90% of the time, as a kid, no matter who offered it, or whatever it was, you tried and hated it. Why’s that? Kids are picky, of course. Continue reading
