A while ago, I learned about this wonderful game on the android market called “Alchemy”. The premise of the game was to start with the very basic elements (earth, air, fire, water) and to combine them to create things. For instance, water plus air gives you a rain cloud. And a rain cloud plus earth gives you a plant. Earth plus earth gives you PSI. When you combine the plant plus PSI you come up with coal. It goes on like that, so on and so forth until you’ve created all of the “elements”.  Continue reading →

I’m on a chicken kick of late. Mainly because it’s the most accessible thing in the kitchen, but you don’t see me complaining. Continue reading →

After spending the morning relaxing, Josh called me up from school and asked me if I could do some cooking for him. No big deal, right? Last week we were able to pick up only a few ingredients to make something that turned out divine. Unfortunately, this time around we didn’t have time to do any shopping and he told me to use whatever was in the cupboard/fridge/freezer to make something.  Continue reading →

Yesterday, I had to do some cooking and didn’t exactly have the most time to do so. Josh and I went to the grocer and I only picked up three things. Orange soda (which will play no part in this post), chicken breasts and Mexican blend cheese. Continue reading →

Nostalgia Post: Chicken Quesadillas

For the longest while, I was on a “Texi-Mexi” kick, with burritoes and quesadillas (I’ve not been brave enough to make enchiladas or fajitas as of yet). This pile of quesadillas (with delicious Munster cheese) came about one night after I ran to the grocery. I picked up peppers, onions, sausage, tortillas, chicken, cheese and just cooked. I ended up creating this pile of quesadillas, sausage peppers and onions, and a batch of the worst chicken alfredo I’ve ever eaten in my life (ugh, jar sauce snobbery).

The Quesadillas were easiest to make, I shredded up the cheese and set it aside in a bowl, seasoned, cooked and shredded the chicken, put it in the tortilla that I warmed in a separate pan, and added cheese, letting the residual heat melt the cheese. They were delicious and I was able to take them to work with a bowl of rice the next day.

(I did -a lot- of cooking that night)
